Generating renewable energy
Akarton also invests in energy from renewable sources. With more than 500 solar panels, we generate part of the energy we need ourselves. Akarton also offsets its gas consumption.

More efficient production in Schüttorf
At the production site in Schüttorf, the supply of corrugated cardboard and the further processing connect directly. This means no road transport is needed between the producer and the processor. This reduces the number of transport movements and also contributes to shorter lead times and lower logistics costs.

How often can cardboard be recycled?
Paper fibers can be reused several times. With every recycling round, the fibers become shorter on average and their quality decreases. That is why new fibers are also needed to keep producing paper and cardboard.
